My name is Jake Bowen, though most people call me JJ. I'm a 23 year old nerd from the East San Francisco Bay Area, who loves reading, writing, hiking, and games of any kind. I've added this page so you can get to know me in a way that beyond my resume alone.
Thanks for reading and enjoy!

In my free time I have taken to exploring hiking trails in the East San Francisco Bay Area and Santa Cruz. I'm pretty sure that soon I'll be able to do the hills without passing out. Fingers crossed!
I love to cook, though my dishes admittedly leave much to be desired. I do find it very therapeutic, however, so if it's a stressful week at work, expect a lot of cookies.
I enjoy climbing at indoor gyms and have also dabbled in bouldering at Castle Rock State Park, which I would highly recommend to those who are less scared of heights than myself.
I love playing games of all types from video games to board games to sports. I'm particularly fond of Super Smash Bros Ultimate and will confidently whoop anyone as Mewtwo.
Since I was young, I've had a fascination with animals. I loved going to the zoo when I was a child and even ended up volunteering there for all of middle and high school. As an adult, I now realize that the extreme diversity of our planet is not something that can be taken for granted. We have been gifted with a such a beautiful, fascinating and complex world and its our job to keep it that way for the next generation.
